Social Media

If you are anything like me you have been poked and prodded ad nauseum about the importance social media almost to the point of despising it. I get multiple phone calls a week from agencies and vendors who want to show me how to use tools that I’m pretty sure I mastered in college. I have to admit, I was just about to the point of checking out in the social world when it happened… the golden nugget of all these social guru’s… a customer complained about my brand! I immediately burst into action and responded within seconds, saving the day, the relationship, and my brand from being defamed. It was in the brief moment of success that I realized the power of these tools. It’s not because your competitors are doing it or your marketing team thinks its cool, it’s because your customers are slowing going to find you and tell you what they really think about your brand. The good, the bad, the ugly. It’s the heart and mind of the individuals you spend all your time and resources trying to appeal to, telling you exactly what you’ve been researching and possibly inaccurately assuming: that your product or services ‘rocks’ or it ‘really sucks’.

I don’t think people should call themselves experts of this very young and ever-changing environment. Just about the time they are finishing a certification, they tool they have mastered has either changed or been replaced. I simply offer the opportunity to discuss, advice, and possibly show you a few tips on how you can one, manage your brands reputation online better, and two, get to the point that you are able to seek out those golden opportunities of information. For more information, give me a shout.
